At Savannas Forever, we collaborate with community decision-makers to identify pressing needs, generate concrete evidence, and take action based on that evidence. We cultivate a culture of learning and continuous improvement.  We emphasize the delivery of tangible results in the fight against poverty, inequality, and the negative impacts of climate change.

Native Seeds, our current signature project, is a collaboration with local Maasai villages on a groundbreaking effort to identify, collect, multiply, and sell mixtures of native grass and forb seeds. By working hand-in-hand with elders in each village, once- abundant grassland species are identified and propagated in order to reseed and restore their alalili (small, private pastures) as well as community rangelands.  This project goes
beyond environmental conservation—it creates opportunities for income generation and helps villagers tackle the challenges of poverty, inequality, and climate change head-on.
